"I love the work on Theo Wanne mouthpieces. Every detail is perfect. They also sound great and look really cool.
I like the power of Shiva on my tenor and the sweet sound of Gaia on my soprano."
Bayu Isman is from Indonesia. He was born in Irving, Texas in 1989 to Indonesian parents but grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia. Music has always been a part of Bayu’s life, having played various musical instruments from his childhood but when he picked up his first saxophone at relative “late” age of 19, he truly excelled. In fact, with only in 1 year of playing, Bayu won and was awarded the “best saxophonist” title in the “Jazz Goes to Campus” competition, which is arguably the most prodigious and longest running jazz competition (+30 years) in his country. Since then, Bayu has played and performed with many famous Indonesian musicians in various settings and TV appearances, including Indonesia's diva Reza Artamevia, the legendary singer Fariz RM, Benny Likumahuwa, Barry Likumahuwa, Hivi, Matthew Sayersz, Suddenly September, Delia Septianti, and Calvin Jeremy. Bayu just released his first single, Kembali (feat. Cassia) on radio on November 2014. He aims to bring Smooth Jazz to an even higher level of popularity in Indonesia.
