JAN EGGERMONT
Testimonial
The Durga really plays like no other mouthpiece! Everything just makes sense. The sound projection is huge and constant trough the whole range of the horn and it makes it so much easier to hit the altissimo register. It feels like you have to do no effort to play these mouthpieces. These mouthpieces are of the best made in the world, I wouldn't trade mine for any other!

Inspiration
Why did you choose to become a musician?
As young boy I tried to make music with everything I got my hands on. Trying to play melodies on an old organ or playing drums on ice cream boxes I discovered the saxophone at the age of 9. After taking lessons and playing in different bands I made the decision that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life.
What is your experience when you feel connected into the music?
Music just gives me so much joy and I just feel better whenever I'm playing. It's better than any doctor out there, it really works as a cure for al the haste and problems of the world. Whenever I'm connected to the music, everything else just disappears and all the problems I had before just fade away and makes room for a relaxed and balanced feeling. Music is the best therapy for me.
Where does your inspiration comes from? What does it feel like?
I believe that everything we encounter in our life can be an inspiration. Whether it's negative of positive energy. And when I'm playing, it's time to let those feelings go. While playing I mostly just close my eyes and think of nothing and just let the music come naturally. Inspiration is not something you can gain in any certain way. It's something that evolves around you and with you as you get older and gain more (life) experience.
