Matthias Anton was born 1979 in Stuttgart, Germany. He studied saxophone in Mannheim and Stuttgart. He played for five years with the Federal Lead Youth Jazz Orchestra under Peter Herbolzheimer. During this time he won the first federal award for young jazz combos with his own band 'Keechero'. Due to his stylistic diversity he has already given concerts in Europe, Asia and the USA. He has been teaching at the Musikhochschule in Trossingen, Germany since 2005. In 2009 he was secondly placed for the Jazz Award of Baden Württemberg, Germany and won the Blue Genius Public Award from the International Medienfestival VS. Since 2010 he's also been teaching Classical Saxophon as a Professor at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Trossingen. Matthias has toured and performed with Peter Herbolzheimer, Bernd Konrad, Torsten DeWinkel, Peter Weniger, Maria Schneider,Phil Woods, The Alvin Mills Project, Marla Glenn, Harriet Lewis, Weather Girls, Glenn Miller Big Band, Swing Time Big Band, Big Band Convention, Summit Orchestra, HP Ockert Big Band, and many others.
